   Took my parents out to celebrate their 50 year anniversary. The perfect combination of sophistication, style, paired with attentive service and perfectly mixed cocktails. Views of the city are unmatched. The decor inside the Monarch helps set a mood. I love the monarch as a frequent visitor but it’s also a star when it comes to showing out on a special occasion. It was an evening my family will not soon forget.

   I can’t speak to the food, but drinks, service and venue are outstanding. It’s my second time there and I highly recommend. The views from their terrace are stunning, the inside is very chic but still welcoming, and the staff was wonderful. Check it out!

   Wanted to treat my husband someplace nice for his birthday. When we arrived (6pm reservation) the entry to the restaurant cordoned off by a “please wait to be seated” sign and roped barrier. Besides us, there was only one other couple in the whole restaurant (not sure who they were trying to keep out). Service was very slow - our waitress was sitting at the bar on her phone. When she finally came over we started to place a food and drink order. She informed us they were out of the first food item we ordered (out of it or never had it??… the restaurant was empty). She then informed us they were out of several other food items on their menu (mind you, they have a small menu to start with). We decided to leave and go someplace else. The view might be great - but- I won’t be going back. The atmosphere was very uninviting.. felt like the staff was hoping for no guests that evening.

   Overall nice cocktail lounge with a classic ambiance. Good drink and snack selection. They had trouble with our reservation during a busy evening.

   Love this place for its cocktails and the ambience. Not to mention the amazing views of Detroit. One of my favorite bars for sure!

    We came hungry thinking we were having dinner but they only serve small bites. Pretty expensive appetizers and drinks. Ambience is nice and relaxing, has lounge vibes. We were seated indoors on couches and chairs with small tables, not at a traditional style table. We had to put our appetizer plates on our laps. Would only go back to grab drinks.
