Welcome to The Saint Bar & Kitchen! Formerly St Andrews institution The West Port, the Saint has recently received an extensive renovation creating cosy, modern lounge areas and a refreshed, extensive garden area so you can enjoy whatever the Scottish weather throws your way.

Please note that our kitchen closes at 9pm so we cannot offer food after this time.

    This is my second visit in January, this time with a friend. We opted to have two courses , instead of our normal 3. The lentil soup was beautiful and my friend went for the muscles, she really enjoyed them and said they were the best she’s had. I had Mac and cheese and friend went for the Trio or Pork. Mac and cheese was lovely, I hoped the bowl would never end. My friend said the trip of pork just melted in your mouth. Overall, another great experience visiting The Saint. The staff were also so very friendly and welcoming, special mention to Steven and his colleagues, thanks for looking after us so well. We can’t wait to return.

    Excellent service. Food was ok but a bit over-cooked and not very hot. Waited a long time for it. Red wine was mediocre.

Please accept my apologies that you found the food to be overcooked and that the red wine did not appeal to your palette. We feel our wine list appeals to all with everything from an easy to drink soft and fruity Sangiovese right through to a dark and smokey Cabernet Franc. We hope you will choose to dine with us again.     We were booked for 8pm table for 6 place was busy and staff took orders straight away we waited 35 minutes for starters then 45mins for mains which arrived at different times, the Mac & cheese was very hot but dried out could not eat it, the manager did give discount and explained that they where short staffed in the kitchen and would give a discount I think if they had explained this at the beginning we would have went elsewhere, this was meant to be a lovely occasion for one of the couples that got engaged,

As explained on the evening we had an unexpected staff sickness and honoured all bookings, and as an apology for the wait time your table received a complimentary round of drinks for the table as well as a discount applied to the overall bill.     Order two of the sandwiches, food took over an hour to come to the table. One of the meals was incorrect, bread was burnt on the other. Chipped china soup bowl was handed out with soup in it. We booked a table and advised we would have a dog with us, the table was very small and hardly any room to move. Staff were friendly and helpful when our first choice of meal wasn’t available.

    An excellent venue for a relaxed meal. The menu has a good choice of items and th3 atmosphere is buzzy but not too noisy

    The employee named Megan did not accept us even though there were many vacant seats. I went out and made a reservation on opentable and we were taken in. The discrimination we saw in this restaurant, which we have not been turned away from anywhere in the world, was very shameful. The female manager came and talked to us, she brought our food, the taste was good, the environment was nice. Be careful, if you are of a different race, you may not be allowed in! Make a reservation and go!!!thank you.by the say St Andrews is amazing without “Megan”

    Thanks for your review Pelin. The reason you were turned away on this occasion was because we had a few staff off sick both in the kitchen & on the floor, Megan was simply following instructions to limit walk-ins so that we could focus on the tables that were already in the restaurant to ensure we gave them the best possible service and prevent wait-times. You were able to book online because limiting walk-ins was a temporary measure, and we rarely receive last minute bookings so we thought this would be sufficient to get us up to speed. We're sorry to hear you feel this had to with race, we can assure you that that wasn't the case, but we're glad to hear you enjoyed the rest of your experience.
