   The staff were friendly and helpful. There was no atmosphere and the room was cold. The starters were much too large and the leeks in the one I had were tough as old boots. The chef seems to be fond of mustard. Although the main dish of sea bass tasted good and the fish was not over cooked for once, the plate looked a mess when it arrived. We’ve eaten there quite a few times before and have been very happy but the this is second time we have been unhappy so we won’t be going again.

   We had a lovely evening meal here, with great and welcoming staff and good service. We really enjoyed the varied menu and the ambiance here. We will be back.

   We enjoyed our lunch at the Star. I am vegetarian so I particularly appreciated having a very good vegetarian dish. The service was excellent and the staff were very tolerant of my learning disabled sister and her habit of doing a jigsaw while waiting for food! We felt very comfortable.

   2 of our group had steaks & they were extremely poor. In fairness, the staff took all our points on board but we were very disappointed in the good overall.

    Absolutely fantastic experience. Setting very nice and calm atmosphere. Service very good, food amazing including extra roast potatoes, carrots and cauliflower cheese as part of unlimited Sunday roast. We will definitely return and recommend.
