Join us for an unforgettable dining experience, whether it’s for lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner. Our carefully curated menus offer a tantalising selection designed to please every palate and showcases the finest local ingredients and culinary talent, ensuring a memorable meal with every visit.

Lunch served Monday - Saturday, 12:00 - 15:00
Afternoon Tea served Friday's & Saturday's, 14:30 – 15:45. Bookings are required to be made within 48 hours of your reservation
À la Carte Dining: Daily from 17:00
Sunday Lunch: from 12:00 - 16:00

Our bar and snug open daily offer a great spot for coffee, tea, drinks, and bar snacks. Well-behaved four-legged friends are welcome in our bar until 18:00.

    Say hello to Afternoon Tea at The Tempus! (Hey Parents, we are also offering a Children's Afternoon Tea, treat your little munchkins for £19.95, just let us know how many children in the party in the notes!!!!) Indulge in a mouth-watering selection of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a delicious array of miniature cakes and pastries.​ However we do require 48 hours notice as everything is prepared on the day for you. Our brand-new menu has been carefully designed by our very own pastry chef, using freshly sourced ingredients from Northumberland and the Borders. Need we say more?​ Afternoon Tea will be served every Friday and Saturday. Pre-booking is required 48hrs before.

    Food was quite expensive for what it was. £100 for a meal for two which was a couple of drinks each, 1 main, 1 starter, 1 side dish and a dessert. There was two vegetarian options - curry or pasta. The pasta was unavailable. We asked for a nice romantic table (never get away from the kids!), and was told over the phone "okay". We were then put on a row of couples which was basically like sitting on a table of 6. The service and staff were great but the food really isn't the standard it's priced at, and the menu is seriously limited.

    Lovely lunch prior to meeting with the wedding coordinator all 3 mains lovely ( the parmesan and truffle fries are sublime) Don't leave without trying the Tempus Sundae, and make sure you visit the toilets - quirkiest toilets around.

    ‘Had Sunday lunch at Tempus ‘Tempus Services’ a better name Poor food, v bland. Cauli cheese uncooked and incredibly tasteless, veg beyond al dente. Food meant to be roasted but was more sweated. Atmosphere like sitting in a service station. Odd decor. Very open in long rows. So many better options for Sunday lunch in the area. Main advice. Please chef bring more taste to your food. Roast, caramelise, concentrate, cook correctly.

    5 of us came for lunch and it was such a nice and relaxing atmosphere. The service was great and the food was excellent. It’s so nice to have a restaurant like this nearby. Will definitely be back.

    We very much enjoyed dining on a sunday evening. As well as standard menu, we were also offered an option to have sunday lunch - pork or chicken which was super tasty. 1 person chose the burger which was very good. 1 of our party had a dairy intolerance & it was great to have a dairy free sunday lunch. One area for future improvement would be the choice of dairy free pudding which was limited to a sorbet. Ice in January isn't an enticing desert:( There was also no dairy free yorkshire pudding with the mains albeit simple to use lactose free milk to create these. For future visits, it would very much be appreciated if there was more dairy free, simple alternative deserts. Perhaps a dairy free ice cream? a fresh fruit salad? a souffle? dairy free crumble? All are simple for professional chefs to prepare. I've had a dairy free sticky toffee pudding in a gastro pub which was out of this world. Breakfast had fresh fruit, dairy free sourdough, margarine and poached eggs which was super tasty and very much appreciated. Please add a simple desert or two and you will have dairy intolerant customers queuing up:)
