Liam and the team behind The Boat are proud to bring to you a modern neighbourhood pub in the beautiful village of Barton-Under-Needwood.

Soak up sun in the garden with a cocktail, or in the winter find a seat inside next to the log burner. Our focus is on modern pub classics with a twist.

Offering breakfast at weekends and a classic Sunday Lunch. We also have space for hire, for private parties, birthdays, meetings or even to kick back for a sporting event.

Inspired by Betty and Peggy our 4 legged residents at our sister restaurant The Boat, where we’ve cultivated our land for crops and created a sustainable eco-system with a focus on reducing waste.

    Join us at The Two Pigs for a specially curated 3 course menu for a Scottish celebration. Starter- "Cullen skink" smoked haddock and soft boiled egg Main- Cotswold chicken, Haggis croquette, neeps and tatties and whiskey butter sauce Dessert- Sticky toffee pudding and whiskey cream Subject to change. We are only able to cater for a gluten free diet with this menu.

    Food and ambiance very good. We shared three excellent starters and two main courses. Excellent presentation, each dish very flavoursome . Regrettable, the desserts did not meet the standards of the starters and mains! Still, we will be coming back.

    The main dish (cod) was delicious. The pudding (crème brûlée) was greasy. The broccoli, quite nice but over priced.

    A lovely venue in a beautiful village setting. We’ve been here 3 or 4 times very recently. We live nearby. We arrived early, ordered our pre-drinks and went to the table as it was ready. Ordered another round of drinks and perused the menu. On the first request for an order we weren’t quite ready to order, but were told that the table was already booked for the next customers in 2 hours, this made us feel under the ‘kosh’ to order ASAP, which inevitably placed some pressure on us. This unfortunately left us feeling on edge… Yes, the food was good. However, good enough to be rushed on an evening to celebrate a birthday?.. we were a table of 5, spending in excess of £300 in less than 2 1/2 hours.

    Food service and place exceptional. I and my friends do think the wine is very expensive especially when buying by the glass.

    A very pleasant evening. The food was excellent. Selection of options spot on. Drink options were again spot on. Food and Drink quality 5 star. Service was perfect by friendly staff. We shall be going again very soon.

    Had our friends xmas meal here. Very welcoming warm and friendly when we arrived. All staff attentive and nothing too much trouble. Good menu options to choose from. The food was well presented and hot when arrived. A lovely Sunday lunch. Will definitely go again.
