Grounded in its home setting, the original 1890s saloon, and dining hall, The Kitchen is a precursor to the classic steakhouse. It brings a farm-to-fire approach that honors time, place, and purpose, including the farms and ranches of the Western Slope. Built around a generous wood hearth that came to be renowned in the West, the restaurant uses nature as a guide and creates space for guests to slow down, connect, and make memories.

Remarkable tableside preparations, vintage cocktails, and friendly small-town hospitality allow guests to focus on going home with an authentic charming story, safely removed from the ordinary.

    Amazing cocktails, top notch staff, great wine list, and everything but the cornbread was amazing. The cornbread was just meh. Plan to eventually book the chef table in the kitchen area with my friends

    Atmosphere is really neat. We sat in the dining room. Our service was fair, but not exceptionally friendly or high-end. The burger was ordered medium well but was medium rare. Pasta dish was tasty and large, but slightly undercooked. Pork chop was unfortunately just not good. Expensive cocktail was about the size of a shot glass. Dessert was also small for the price. We had high hopes but it just wasn’t worth the value.

    We did the chef’s table and it was so fun! Our only complaint was that the restaurant seemed to be understaffed and our server disappeared for long periods. But we loved talking with the chef and learning about the cooking techniques. Also, they need more comfortable chairs at the chef’s table.

    The food was amazing, we were sat at the chefs table which was an amazing experience. Chef was awesome and staff was very delightful. Can not wait to visit again!!

    A really neat, historic spot in Ouray that takes you back in time with calming ambiance! Staff is friendly and accommodating. My wife and I snacked before our 45 minute drive to restaurant so we didn't have much of an appetite when we got there, which was a bummer because they had some entrees we really wanted to try. We opted for 2 appetizers instead, and 2 desserts. The cheeseboard was good but could have used more variety, and the blue cornbread was light and fluffy. It was tasty! What I remember most, however, is the Chocolate Pot dessert. It changed my life! :)

    I was generally underwhelmed with this restaurant starting with its limited selection of dinner entrees. Although the food was ok, the portions were small for the prices paid. The wood fired vegetable starter priced at $17 was way overpriced! To end things off I didn't like that the hand held payment terminal had the tips start at 22%. In summary there are better dinner options in Ouray.
