Based in Greetham, The Wheatsheaf is 6 miles from Oakham and 4 miles from Rutland Water. Carol and Scott took over the Wheatsheaf in March 2008. The seasonal Modern British menu changes weekly. The wine list is based on wines from around the world with a good selection by the glass. We also have an excellent selection of beers and local cask ales.

In 2021 The Wheatsheaf was a new entry in The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastro Pubs and was also awarded The Michelin Red Plate.

We are closed on Mondays and Tuesday except Bank Holidays.

We feel that the fish dishes at The Wheatsheaf are particularly good but all the food is excellent.

What a wonderful restaurant. A lovely welcome by Manager and staff. Fantastic meal and service. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Fantastic menu. From start to finish we both had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend the food and wine and beer here. We will definitely be back with friends.

Lovely greeting on arrival, host (I assume Scott) extremely attentive, friendly waitress. Interestingly different menu. Food very nice, portions on the large side, certainly value fir money. Special occasion with personalised card left on table from the staff - lovely touch.

This is fast becoming my favourite place to eat when I want a really nice and enjoyable lunch out with friends. The food is excellent and good value. The staff are friendly and efficient without being overbearing. I like the layout and ambience of the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Absolutely incredible as always! Can never fault a single thing everytime we come, the service and food are outstanding! Thank you for always making me and my daughter Lola so welcome every single time.

We have eaten at the Wheatsheaf several times over the last two years and each time the food, service and value for money has been outstanding. I would thoroughly recommend a visit!

My friend and I met here for a long lunch and catch up and to celebrate her birthday. We received a wonderful welcome (including a birthday card) and received great service throughout our visit. We had the 3 course set lunch menu and it was simply fabulous, and good value for money too. We did not feel rushed at all, making it a very enjoyable visit.
