This was our second visit to Tipsy Taco. Our first visit was disappointing, but we did not want to judge based on an off night so went back with friends. We won't go back again. First off, the parking is insufficient. We had to park in the Advance Auto Parts lot next door and walk a short stint down Route 9 to get there. Bad parking seems to be the MO for the Tipsy folks as the same is true in their Tipsy Moose location in Latham. Short wait for our reserved table ... no problem, we'll get drinks. No chance. Bartender too busy talking to customers already seated.
We had asked in the reservation for a table away from the foot traffic. We were seated at the table in the middle of the foot traffic. Before water or orders, two other tables out of the foot traffic opened up. We asked if we could move to one of those tables (same size, by the way) and were told "No." Ok, then. Maybe the server will bring joy. Nope. Our table server was horrendous. Busy bar and moderately full seating, so you expect delays with drinks and service -- that was not the problem. Our water remained empty throughout. Requests for second drinks appeared to be a major imposition. Bottomless chips and salsa were ignored until hostess noticed and offered to help. I hope our server was just having a bad day -- but this is the second time the server has been lackluster at this place.
Finally, a note on the tables ... they serve everything on gigantic and unnecessarily large platters. There is no room on the tables for four people to eat off of the ridiculously large platters. The portion sizes are good, but the platters are really much larger than they have to be to accommodate the portions and it makes the table a balancing act for four people to eat.
The food is fine. You get pretty much what you expect from the Tipsy brand. This review is NOT based on the quality or even the pricing of the food.
