   We had a great time enjoying our Teppanyaki dinner. We were celebrating our granddaughter going back to college.l at SDSU..Lino gave us a great experience. He was friendly and encountered with us the whole time. Tokyo Wako never disappoints.

   We opted for a 6:30 dinner as we started early that eve. Our waitress didn't come by for ~15 min after we were seated. She was 100% not in the mood to be there...We waited another ~15 min to get our drinks (including our 6 year olds sprite....) 1.5 hours before they started cooking. The only shining star in the building was the chef, he was very nice and apologetic. Never saw a manager, there were 3 gals at the table with us who drove ~1 hour to get there...ended up leaving before they started cooking. I would NEVER eat there again unless they comped our meal to consider them again. PS - i've never rated any establishment a 1 before.... good luck staying in business.

   Tokyo Wako is well-located in Long Beach's Convention Center shopping&dining zone, with ready access to the small-craft harbor. The dining experience is very much akin to a Benihana, with flamboyant communal hibachi cooking and various Japanese sides and mixology. When my party was there, their decent sake list was sadly depleted and I ended up with my 4th choice. Dinner itself was tasty, generously-proportioned, and ably prepared by our chef. Do yourself the favor of upgrading to the fried rice, even if that leaves less room for dessert.

   My wife and I had dinner here and it was great. It was on New Years Day and the restaurant wasn't that busy. It was calm and we were seated shortly after arriving. The hostess, waitress, and chef were excellent and friendly. The food was outstanding and so very delicious. We had a wonderful dinning experience.
