Modern coastal Italian trattoria & bar with breath-taking ocean views, located in Currumbin Beach, Gold Coast.

Tommy’s Italian offers a sharp but casual service, coupled with familiar and welcoming hospitality. This begins the moment the reservation is made, seen and tasted through every dish served and felt with each goodbye.

Our intimate function space located on the mezzanine level offers 50 seats that can be booked for private events. We offer an a la carte and set menu, as well as a coffee window from Thursday to Sunday.

The menu also offers 12-inch cooked to perfection Neapolitan Pizza in our Marana Forni woodfired oven.

    Staff were kind, friendly and happy to account for any special requests! Food was divine and large portions. Super tasty and lovely atmosphere. My grandparents and I had a wonderful time.

    Really lovely setting, especially upstairs…. Reserve the terrace if you can! The pacchieri arrabiata was amazing 🤩

    They say you get what you pay for … at Tommy’s you pay a high price for very good pasta while watching the waves roll in at Currumbin Beach. Service is top notch in this seaside vibe where the tables are packed in to this former cafe two-level space. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a regular when in town and don’t mind the shoulder to shoulder configuration. And $40 for a lamb ragu is about par these days!

    Our experience was uncomfortable and cut short. We were dining upstairs for my fiancé’s birthday. We had a baby with us, so we booked an early seating at 5:15 pm on a Friday for five adults and a baby. A long table was set up for what seemed to be 18 guests in the middle of the small room. As we settled in, guests started arriving for what turned out to be a Hen’s Party. It quickly became a frustrating situation, with no separation between the party and the rest of the diners. The space was so tight that servers had to squeeze between our table and the Hen’s Party table. Soon after there were at least 25 guests for the Hen’s Party, and it was clear that there was an issue with their booking. Management addressed the party in the middle of the restaurant, explaining that the booking was only for 18 and there wasn’t enough room to seat the extra guests, who continued to arrive. They also mentioned that they had tried calling the Hen’s Party contact earlier that day but had trouble reaching them (which we shouldn’t have been privy to, but there was no privacy from the entire situation). The overflow guests loitered around the upstairs area, dressed extravagantly, with nowhere to sit. Meanwhile, we were trying to enjoy a family dinner and celebrate a birthday. The baby was overstimulated by the chaos, and my mum was being squeezed closer and closer to the table. We had planned to order more drinks and dessert for my fiancé’s birthday (we didn’t get a cake for this reason), but instead, we decided to leave dinner unfinished. Although the restaurant apologized and offered to package our food, it wasn’t enough to make up for the experience—especially with a $300 bill as we walked out. To top it off, we had pre-booked an Uber that we couldn’t change without incurring a fee, so we sat on a bench across the road for 45 minutes as it started to rain—which ended up being the best part of the night.

    The food was great, no complaints there. However, at that price point you don't expect slow service and the most uncomfortable outdoor dining chairs I have ever sat in. If you decide to dine there, don't choose downstairs and outdoors. The staff were friendly once they got to you, empty glasses and plates just sat there for too long. While we are dog lovers, it should be a courtesy to ask diners if they're okay having dogs so close to them. I'm actually allergic to fur dogs and would have liked to move. The dogs (2) were seated right next to us once we'd started our mains. We didn't want to make a fuss so rather than staying for dessert or more drinks, we left.

    We are regulars to Tommy’s however today it was so loud in there it’s uncomfortable. When you have to rate the noise level and you select the highest value, I would call it energetic as it’s described. It’s so loud with no sound dampening that you just want to eat and go. The tables are squished together and they are crammed in with low ceiling, wooden floor, the bar, kitchen etc, you can’t hear each other talking and you are practically yelling. Even the waitress said she can’t stand it either. You need to fix the sound asap. Also, it was so warm with only a ceiling fan on. The food of course is lovely, but lol this is lost on the experience.
