The Trattoria Italiana is family run restaurant based right on the seafront, in Bexhill on Sea. Like many Italian families, we are very passionate about preparing, creating, celebrating (and of course eating) food and drink. Established in 2004, our restaurant has gone from strength to strength. We like to thinks it’s a result of providing good quality authentic Italian food and serving it with the warmest of welcomes.
At Trattoria Italiana we have an extensive menu, ranging from traditional Italian pastas and pizzas to fantastic fish and meat dishes. As well as a great range of dishes to choose from. We have set menus, weekly specials, a children’s menu and a wide range of soft and alcoholic beverages.

There was an odd glitch in that they hadn’t transferred my booking to their records so the table wasn’t reserved and they were very busy because of Father’s Day, which sadly caused a bit of initial brusqueness. They recovered well.

This place is a really local institution, busy, bustling and packed! Great food and excellent service. Calamari to start (just right) penne al arrabiata, pizza and gelato. All very good. Can’t really fault anything except perhaps the slow transmission of our booking. I guess I’d assumed that once I made my reservation it was transmitted instantly to the restaurant but this is clearly not the case. I booked at 5 for 6.30 but when we got there the reservation had only just been received so we had a little wait. The wait was perfectly managed, we looked at menus, were brought drinks and in no time we were seated.

A most enjoyable dining experience. Food of a very high quality. Staff excellent. A particular shout out to Nikki who was most helpful. Unfortunately they had run out of some menu items by 18.00. Suggest that they check out the events at De La Warr Pavillion in advance to gauge the level of interest in people dining with them. Otherwise, no complaint or gripes at all.

This restaurant is an institution in Bexhill. Everything about it is lovely. The staff are delightful and attentive and the food is delicious. I had tagliatelle Harry’s Bar which is baked and very good. The pistachio ice cream is excellent. The atmosphere has an easy charm about it. We come back again and again.

2nd time here and just as good as the first. This time with whole family. Ideal venue for a pre-event meal before the DWP. Service is exemplary, efficient yet friendly. Will return every time we have a DWP event for sure

Very friendly staff, excellent choice of food, prices a little expensive (especially for the starters) but overall the food was very good, service very good and all in all a very exjoyable evening. I would definitely return

Hadn't been here for a couple of years has certainly changed a lot, not so welcoming, draughty & cold where we were seated, and lacking in ambience, food mediocre ravioli hard & not much sauce that's why most of it was left, chicken was nice but swimming in sauce.. staff were nice but disinterested will give a miss for another couple of years.
