Ula is a beautiful European Mediterranean restaurant and tapas bar in San Francisco. Sip your martini or quality wine with a seafood-centric menu that has a focus on raw, roasted, and grilled fish and various roasted and grilled meats, pasta, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan selections. The restaurant is maximalist art deco with fixtures that depict jellyfish, oysters, and grand maritime vessels. Just a hop from Union Square, the delightfully vintage dining room begs to be paired with a nostalgic trolley ride and a stroll through the heart of the city. We had an amazing dinner at Ula. Our waiter and bartender, Ezekiel, was the best. He’s been recreating their cocktail menu and each one we tried was truly amazing. We loved the crab cakes, chicken pastry, tuna tartar and the lamb chops. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant and eat here again!

We had an amazing server who helped me ask my now girlfriend by writing “will you be mine” on a dessert plate. I wish I got his name but he is the guy with hand tattoos and has a chef background. Great service and an overall great experience. Thank you so much!

Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive..not worth the wait..ordered black truffle old fashion..drink was merky mud water looking with terrible presentation my glass was half full while my wife's was 1/3 full and poor taste. Main course arrived before appetizers so canceled those..Filet mignon was bland as was the seafood paella which had sausage in place of chorizo..at least tasted so. Tje Bolognese was very good. Service was extremely slow. Extra charges are added to bill approximately 40% extra fees. Will not return and don't recommend.
