Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.
Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.
On Wednesday nights in place of our à la carte we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. On Sunday nights the restaurant is closed but we serve a light supper for hotel guests in the Farmhouse.
We have a range of beautiful seasonal menus for larger groups, and take pleasure in writing bespoke menus for our exclusive hire bookings.

Updown has several beautiful spaces in which to host your private event. We have a beautiful conservatory Private Dining Room overlooking the farmhouse lawn. It is perfect for groups of 4 to 14 for a seated meal, or up to 20 for a drinks party. The main restaurant can accommodate up to 50 sitting or 150 standing and is ideal for a larger party.

On Saturday 26th April, the fiery island flavours of Soho’s Paradise and Dom Fernando will take over the kitchens of Updown. With a menu inspired by his Sri Lankan heritage, Dom’s menu will celebrate the best of British and Sri Lankan produce for a contemporary twist on Sinhalese cuisine.

All dining is for communal tables and everyone will be served together, with guests invited to sit from 7pm and dinner served from 7.30pm. Tickets are £65 per person including a welcome drink.
