For a true “vaga”, the journey is never-ending; the spirit and palate, always curious. Drawing ingredients and inspiration from near and far, VAGA explores San Diego’s ever-changing confluence of culture and wanderlust. From its perch on a coastal bluff in Encinitas, California, VAGA keeps one hand in the ocean, one hand in the farm, and both eyes on the horizon.

VAGA Restaurant & Bar is located on Level 2 of Alila Marea Beach Resort. Valet parking is available through the resort for $5.00 per car before 5 pm with validation only. After 5 pm, valet parking is $10.00 per car with no validation required. Self-parking is not available.

    Vaga was amazing, the combination of flavors were phenomenal, the wait staff was fantastic, we were there 3 hours and we're never rushed, not a cheap dinner, but everything was top notch!

    Absolutely wonderful. The staff, the food, the ambiance, the atmosphere. I’ve been here twice and I’m definitely coming many many more times. What a wonderful place.

    Vaga is our new favorite! Everything from the beautiful decor, sunset views, menu and ambiance was fabulous. Jessica was our server and she was amazing - professional, informative, and friendly! We loved our anniversary dinner and will definitely be back! Thank you!

    Beet salad was exceptional . The scallops entree was embarrassing tiny . Tuna crudo was fresh and delicious but the execution was very sloppy and had questionable elements on the dish ( apple?)

    I loved the little purse stand. That was unique. The view and table location was outstanding. The professionalism and great service with all employees was noteworthy. The Baja Caesar salad was delicious, the Parker rolls were good. They were a tad overdone. My strip steak was cooked to perfection and while the scallops were excellent, it left my dining partner wanting more. We were celebrating a birthday, so the semifreddo was a nice, personal and delicious end to a great evening. Thank you. We very much enjoyed our evening thanks to VAGA.
