Bath Spa Hotel’s Vellore Restaurant was once the magnificent ballroom of the original house, built in the 1800’s. It’s now an award-winning and elegant dining room with tranquil outdoor terrace. Our celebrated Executive Head Chef has created a stunning à la carte menu using the very best seasonal ingredients – a creative fusion of traditional and modern English cooking.
Offering a Tasting Menu and Chef’s Table Menu, you can also enjoy Lunch and Afternoon Tea in beautiful surrounds in this quiet and peaceful corner of Bath city centre.
Our friendly and knowledgeable team can recommend, select and pair wines from our impressive list to perfectly complement your food. Of course, you can also be sure to receive a warm welcome and the meticulous service you’d expect from Macdonald Hotels.

                                            Outstanding food and service. I cannot find a fault, good selection of drinks and the tasting menu is definetely something special to try. Nilesh and Tellulah we're both amazing. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!

                                            Absolutely delightful experience here! We had our wedding here and the night before went for a nice meal with afew friends. The food was delicious and fresh. We will definitely be returning. 😁 I had the hake which was really fresh and just perfect. I think I would order this again.

                                            Sadly disappointing. We had two gluten & dairy free guests. They were poorly catered for: their afternoon tea had 2 sandwiches each to our 4, scones were so sweet they could not be enjoyed no dairy free butter or cream was offered, 2 cakes each to our 3. Waiter was inattentive & unsmiling from the outset. Poor value for £50 pp & very poor service.

                                            The setting is beautiful. The former ballroom is grand, clean and gives great ambiance. The Maitre D was excellent- could not be more helpful. The food was largely good. Some very limp broccoli let it down but a beautifully cooked steak was very good. Other staff were a little slow to react. When I asked for port with my cheese the sommelier brought out dessert wine! In all an ok experience, but at £250 for two- I won’t rush back.
