Located just over the bridge from Anna Maria Island and the famous Coquina Beach State Park, the hidden gem of Longboat Key is Ventura's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar. You will find this friendly neighborhood gem tucked away in the corner at Whitney Plaza, a short drive from Sarasota and the Famous St. Armand's circle on the scenic Gulf of Mexico Drive. Ventura's is family-owned and operated, open for dinner seven nights a week. Join us before or after sunset, to enjoy homemade Italian dishes, hand-tossed pizzas, amazing deserts, a large selection of small vineyard wines, and a full bar to satisfy all your cravings. Indoor or waterfront al fresco dining is available. Private parties, wine tasting dinners, catering & special events are offered. Order ahead for full menu takeout and local delivery.

                                                                                                                      So many fabulous menu items makes the choice quite a challenge. The NY style pizza brings me right back to my NJ days. The meatballs are to die for, the eggplant rollatini is one of my favorites, and the marinara is just like Grandma’s! Service is always top notch and they make you feel like family!

                                                                                                                      After a cocktail at the bar, we moved to a very comfortable table in the barroom. The menu was very extensive with something for everyone, from appetizers of fried calamari, broccoli rabe with sausage and mussels in white wine sauce. They also have a wide selection of pizzas to eat in or take out. Then came a huge salad which was so good, it reminded us of a Jersey hoagie. My husband had the veal chop with a side of pasta that had homemade real Italian gravy on it and I had the flounder francaise. Dinner also came with fresh sliced bread with Italian gravy or butter. Our waitress was Terri, who was also the bartender. She did a great job keeping up with the bar and a couple of tables. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Italian dinner.

                                                                                                                      Lovely Italian restaurant with excellent service and homemade pasta. We sat outside for the first time, a little soft music would be nice. The hurricanes probably took some of the plant life but that will come back! We enjoyed it all!

                                                                                                                      My wife and I just returned from an Amazing meal at Ventura's; had a totally awesome Pizza. The only thing better than the food was being able to meet Debra, the owner; her mother, Fran, and our great server, Julie. These folks certainly do Italian RIGHT, with the added bonus being that we were able to help support a family run busines that takes great pride in their food and service. If you decide to go out for a fabulous and reasonably priced meal, then don't hesitate; go to Ventura's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar; you'll definately be glad you did. Jeff Porzelius, Gridley, IL.

                                                                                                                      We made an outdoor reservation and when we arrived were told that it was too noisy and crowded to sit either in the exterior back or side. We then had very young amateurish wait staff who paced the meal strangely and brought out all of the food at once: appetizer, salad and entree. The entree was ultimately whisked away to sit under a heat lamp. Sadly, the food was mediocre as well; my flounder franchise was limp, tasteless and drowning in butter. We won’t be back…
