First the positive; the decor is beautiful and our server was charming and attentive.
Now the negative; after reading the rave reviews we were looking forward to a great dinner. For appetizers we had the mussels which were ok but the broth was okay too sweet. I told my husband we should have ordered them for dessert! We also had the patatas bravas, which were very disappointing - small and greasy. I’ve had much better at less expensive restaurants. My husband’s fish tacos were okay, but my seafood paella was terrible; mostly rice, extremely salty, and none of the crisp edges that paella should have. There was very little seafood in it. After I ate the seafood I had a pan full of tomatoey rice. We took it home and crisped it up and put a fried egg on top, for lunch. Still too salty. When our server (who I really liked) asked how everything was, I was about to tell him but he rushed off before I could say anything. The crème brûlée was very good; the basque cheesecake had a nice texture but was barely sweet - almost salty. I took most of it home and made a raspberry sauce to pour over it. This improved it greatly.
The other negative was the noise level. Unless you like dining in a really loud room, I recommend reserving a table on the second floor. It’s beautiful up there and CALM.
Our bill came to $170, without having had drinks.
