   A restaurant that feels trapped in a bygone era, which fortunately most restaurants have moved on from. Food was very disappointing considering the high prices. The low point, in a meal of low points, was the daily special, sole goujons. Overcooked fish encased in a hard, dry, carapace of breadcrumbs, garnished with a limp, undressed pile of generic leaves. This desiccated dish, with one side of potatoes was over £50 once service was added. Service was friendly and well meaning, but there were finished plates left on the table for long periods betweeen courses and after the meal. With so many better places nearby, I feel it’s time to call last orders for this Villa.

   I booked a table for 4 people using Open Table. On the booking, I made a note that we were celebrating a birthday. On top on this, I made an additional note with a request for a Bread basket to be waiting on the table for us, and if it was possible to do, then a plate saying Happy Birthday using olive oil and balsamic vinegar. On Saturday, 2 of us arrived at 8.25pm to the restaurant (early), we waited to be seen for 10 minutes. After finally being seen, we were told that the table upstairs was not yet ready and that the diners did not want to leave. We were asked to leave and come back in 15 minutes. I was shocked at what I was hearing, firstly that the other diners were more important, they were not yet ready to leave so were allowed to keep the table, and we were expected to simply wait, but not just wait, to leave the restaurant and to return soon. On a cold, dark Saturday night, we are expected to just stand around outside and wait. Just to add, that our other guests had already arrived too and were also just outside with us. We did return to the restaurant, 15 minutes later at 8.50pm as per request of the restaurant, and again had to wait. We did not get seated at a table until 9.05pm. There was no apology. We were seated at a table, without any bread basket. We did express our concerns to a member of staff who said he would come back, but then didn’t. Generally throughout the night, the service too was very slow. We waited a long time to be able to order, we also waited a long time to get the bill and to pay. I could not believe the lack of apology or even gesture to try and help make our evening a bit nicer, and to try and make it up to us after such a poor experience. Furthermore, we were told we were given a smaller table for a few moments but would be moved to a larger one once cleared, but this too was not offered to us again.    The food was excellent the staff could not have done enough for us....Impeccably dressed and mannered waiters who were attentive enough without being intrusive.....the sign of a class A establishment. The most fantastic part was they fulfilled my online request, at the time of booking to play Matt Monroe singing "MORE" for the very great lady of 99 years young who accompanied.me.....and for that alone they get a five star review fro me!!!.......BRAVO VILLA BIANCA

   We have been here often and really enjoy the food service and atmosphere. Everyone is attentive and professional. The pasta with lamb was the best I have had abd not too big a portion. House wine was good value. We will return!

   We went to this restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day. It was very busy. The beginning of the service was nice - and the food was really good, albeit quite expensive. However, after waiting half an hour for them to clear our table of our mains, the service completely stopped after that: no-one came to see how we were doing, no-one came to offer us a drink, and no-one came by to ask if we wanted dessert. The place clearly got busy, and we could barely see a waiter around to wave to them. Even though we could see tables around with their beautiful desserts and free lemoncello. We were enjoying the atmosphere waiting for someone to come by so we could order dessert and benefit from the same treatment. But out of the blue, a woman (who hadn't even served us) came by and without saying a thing put the bill on the table! I responded that we'd like to actually order dessert, and we hadn't asked for the bill. She left, and another woman came back - rude as hell, telling us 'I know you didn't ask for the bill but your allocated slot is over, you have to leave' WHAT? no-one served us! if you want us to leave within an allocated slot 1) remind us about it 2) make sure your staff gives us a full service (I paid 160 pounds for my dinner, I deserve the right and full service). After letting her know that it was clearly not our fault - she would not have it, shrugged, didn't apologise, told her 'you can see its very busy' and waited for us to make the payment an leave. No 'I'm sorry' , no 'Here's a dessert on the house for the next visit', nothing. This completely ruined our Valentine's Day evening. If you're going to give your customers a slot to be able to get more business, you have to make sure you're actually able to handle that business. Otherwise, don't force your customers out the door! I would have at least expected some sort of commercial gesture for this treatment.
