   I have some friends visiting Chicago for the first time and they were excited to come to Chicago’s Eataly. We had reservations for a table but when we got there a table wasn’t available. We were told we could get sat at the bar instead of a table after waiting 10 minutes so we said that was fine. We were sat at the skinniest table for our dinner with barely any room for our food and drinks. We didn’t realize that the bar was closing otherwise we would have waited for the table, but all of the staff working the bar side seemed upset we were there and it ruined the vibe of our dinner.

   We had reservations. One we got the and checked it the manager gave our table away to a walk in. He was unapologetic and blamed it on his staff when we were standing right there and heard what was going on. He was not very personable and is definitely in the wrong position. Not impressed

   It felt like there was one server for the entire restaurant. He was doing a fantastic job given the circumstances but it took my significant other finishing his entree before he even got his first drink.

   The food was universally well liked, but the service really lagged. The drink prices were steep, which might be expected in a big city. Because there was a DJ near the restaurant, and because of the lack of carpeting and such, the noise reverberated, and it was quite loud. Still, good food, and a good location!

   This was completely misleading ! The description was way off- the food was subpar, the wait staff was rude and rushed. The fondue which was a featured item was cold for both the cheese and chocolate- never again. Shame on you !

   Vino & is doing a Northern Italy Alpine menu right now. 6 choice from the Polenta list, new Spatzle (Have had) and Goulash (have had) and even Fondue. The Food is always first rate. The ambience is fun. Service is attentive. Try this Alpina menu before it’s changed for Sprung.

   Great food but it’s kind of ridiculous not having gluten free bread or crackers when you have such a marvelous antipasti. Too bad that wasn’t available. Soup was delicious though and we were told that was gluten free. Thank you.

    It was amazing! From the server to the food. I can’t remember the servers name but he was so helpful with suggestions. He was attentive but not hovering. The wine and meal he suggested were fantastic. We couldn’t ask for a better experience.
