Located in Bedfordshire, The White Lion is a traditional family friendly pub at the heart of the market town of Dunstable. Join us for firm family favourites, grab tasty bar snacks with your pint or indulge in a roast with all the trimmings and bring the family together this Sunday. Worst roast dinner I’ve ever had. Taste absolutely disgusting, kind it had been over a hot counter for a long time. No seasoning, dry chicken & overall it really was vile. I will never return. I’m so disappointed with them. They need to up their game, they are getting a really bad reputation.

We had a booking for 5:15 on a Sunday. When we arrived we were refused service because they ‘don’t take bookings at that time’ we took it on the chin and ordered a drink ready to go somewhere else. While we were waiting for our drinks another couple walked in with the same booking time and were seated no problems. We then queried this and the bar staff went back to the chef to ask if we could be seated. This took another 10 minutes before being told we could eat but there would be a long wait time and restrictions on what we could order. We didn’t eat here as we were appalled by the service. The live music in the garden was so loud you couldn’t hear anyone talk inside the restaurant. Would not recommend going here.

Since I learned that there is live music on Fridays and a DJ on Saturdays, I have become a regular at The White Lion. I often come with different groups of friends. The food is also very tasty. I highly recommend it. I wish the kitchen didn't close so early. Since the latest reservation is at 7:30 (which you have to beg for), most of the time we have to eat somewhere else and just come for a drink.

Good food with lots of choice, fine selection of beers etc and enjoyable atmosphere and afternoon. Will be back

We came for a roast but was a bit disappointed by the lack of veg. Everything was lovely but hardly any vegetables. Also you can tell who the locals are which I appreciate however there is no sound buffer between the bar and the dining area. I had my 7 year old son with me and we had to listen to a rowdy bunch who swore every 5 seconds. It was 5pm on a Sunday so appreciate people want to unwind however feel something should seperate the 2 areas some how or the locals are told to be a bit more mindful of their surroundings and children present. It is a shame as it has put us of coming back and it's local to us and is really lovely inside but just too loud. We were sat under a speaker which didn't help as I feel that was too loud too

Food was not good, starter-the bread was too hard to eat! We were not charged for this. The main meal out of 5, 1 was fine, 1 ok although chicken was dry,and 3 meals were poor. We were all given a drink each to compensate for this. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. Would not eat there again. Would recommend the pub but not the food.
