Yann Couvreur, the world-renowned French Pastry Chef, has now opened his first daytime café in Wynwood. The menu showcases the finest seasonal and local ingredients without any added artificial flavors or preservatives. You can experience dishes such as the iconic “Tartine Saumon” featuring Appalachian Smoked Salmon, lemon cream cheese, and microgreens placed atop toasted multigrain sourdough; the “Tuna Melt” made with toasted brioche, cheddar cheese, and Yann Couvreur Café’s housemade tuna mix; baked goods such as the “Baguette et Beurre” and the caramelized “French Toast”; and the table-side Niçoise salad experience. From early breakfast to brunch, lunch, and afternoon tea, this café restaurant is your go-to destination for a nice break à la Française. This morning, we visited Yan Couvreur Café in Downtown Miami for breakfast. We made a reservation in advance as we were two families of four. The place is beautifully decorated with a great ambiance, and the bakery counter is spectacular — croissants, pain au chocolat, and tarts looked exquisite. However, our overall experience fell far short of expectations. When we arrived, our table was ready, but we waited 15 minutes to be served, which was surprising since the restaurant wasn’t busy. The waiter eventually took our order: 4 main dishes, 4 coffees, and 3 tarts. From there, things started to go downhill. The dishes took a long time to arrive, and oddly enough, they started coming out before the coffees. When the coffees finally arrived, they were cold, and we had to send them back. The fries were also cold and hard, so those were sent back as well. My omelette arrived first, but the salad that was supposed to accompany it didn’t arrive until I was nearly finished eating. The waiter seemed inexperienced and disorganized, which added to the frustration. Despite only drinking water, our bill totaled $250, including a mandatory 20% tip. This raises a valid question: how much longer will it be acceptable for restaurants to impose a 20% gratuity on customers when the service is clearly subpar? In summary, Yan Couvreur Café offers a charming atmosphere and visually appealing products, but our experience was overshadow

The experience was perfect ! The food is delicious. It was appreciated to eat food that actually tastes good in Miami. Derek, the manager, and Enzo, our waiter, made the experience even better. We will go back for sure !

Food is creative and delicious. However, the restaurant is understaffed again for our second visit. The host was serving food, clearing tables and sitting customers.

If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience, this restaurant might not be the best choice. The food was passable, but the service was lacking. The portions were quite small, and there wasn’t anything particularly special about the dishes.

The ambiance is beautiful! Well put together and very cute. We order the so “famous hot chocolate and it came cold ! We also order eggs Benedict , expecting to receive a warm two pieces of bread with two eggs and the sauce, it came one small piece of brioche with two small eggs on the same piece of bread, not hot. We ask for water that never came to the table, also an extra brioche that never came to the table. We were 4 people and each order 1 plate and 1 drink, the bill came to $160.00 , which was not an issue if the food was warm and enough ! NOT worth it the $$$$. Many other delicious breakfast places with warm food and good service.

The esthetics of Yann Couvreur are exquisite: The food and environment are beautiful. That said, we were disappointed with the apathy of our server and the substance of my meal. I would return for coffee and a pastry, which would be more predictably enjoyable.

Delicious, well-selected food, drinks and superb pastries, although we didn't indulge. Service was pleasant. A bit chaotic inside with lots of people standing around waiting for takeout orders to be ready. But a very Miami scene at the edge of Wynwood and fun.
