Yardbird is our rotisserie chicken restaurant upstairs above The Dirty Onion. Our menu is small but our flavours are big. Ok, we do chicken, but our chicken is famous!

Our local free-to-roam chicken is marinated for 24 hours in lemon, buttermilk, and paprika. It is then dry-rubbed, cooked and blast-chilled to keep it juicy and finally roasted on the spit. Ribs and wings are also available, as are a choice of sides and homemade desserts. Hungry yet?

We prepare all our food in-house and service is fast!

This is a booking for Yardbird the restaurant, The Dirty Onion bar operates on a first come first serve basis.

                                                Food was very very good and happy to recommend to all. Disappointed that despite booking a table for 8 well in advance we arrived and were put on two separate tables. Had this been stated when booking made I would have chosen an alternative venue that could accommodate all my team at one table.

                                                Food was lovely, staff were great and very helpful. Our table was a bit dark but the food was so nice it didn’t matter!

                                                This place got great reviews which is why we chose it. It was quiet, we were the only people there initially. A few more people joined while we were there. Ordered drinks a starter and mains each. Chicken burger had a deep fried piece of chicken, I thought it was breast but it appeared to have some deep fried skin on it?! Am not a fan of anything but chicken breast so wasn’t quite sure what I was eating. The flappy bit hanging out of my burger buns put me off a bit. It came in a basket with chips. I must have gotten the end of a bag because my portion consisted of a lot of small stumpy bits of chip which were quite oily. I couldn’t finish it in the end. We asked if the restaurant could phone a cab for us to get to the SSE arena as the weather was dreadful and you cannot hail cabs on the street. We were told no which was a bit unhelpful. Overall it was expensive for what we got. Wouldn’t got back. Looked like there were much nicer restaurants around.
