I was well aware of a possible delay due to the day being Valentines Day. So we arrived early as the day before we were informed that if we were more than 10 mins late, they would cancel our reservation. We arrived early and checked in at the hostess station. It was a birthday celebration for my daughter and they were nice enough to allow us to bring a cake. They gladly accepted the cake and placed it in the fridge for us. Upon check-in, they informed us there could potentially be a 15-20 min delay because of the day. We appreciated the heads up and agreed to wait the additional time even though our reservation was for 6 pm. (We checked in at 545pm). The line for checked in proceeded to get longer and longer. We checked back in at 620pm, and we were told the table we were waiting on to leave were almost finished with their meal. We were patient. It's Valentines Day, of course. We checked back in again at 645pm, asking for a status update. The hostess stated that the one table we were waiting for had been there 3 hrs now. They just got served their last plates! Just crazy... so we asked if this was the only table that could accommodate us. They said it should be any minute. We go back outside and wait. At 710pm, I proceed back to the hostess stand. She states they just left, and they needed to clear the table. At 730pm, we finally got to our table. The hostess was very friendly and busy, of course. We order drinks, and she brings them out. We ordered promptly. 45 mins later, our appetize came out , and our sushi didn't arrive at the table till we had been sitting there 1.5 hrs. The food was slightly warm and just mediocre. The sushi rice was hard and just didn't taste fresh. The overall evening was just a mess for food that was just ok and underwhelming. Maybe it would be better on a less busy night. But this was our first experience at RA, don't know if we'll be back. We will probably stay with Oban, downtown Tucson. They are the best Sushi in town!
