Opening in 1939, The Regency Room has remained at the heart of the Roanoke social and cultural experience. The restaurant, under the direction of Executive Chef Michael Whittaker, features French-inspired Southern cuisine and is open year-round, including holidays.     Once granted having a different server as our waiter, our Valentine's evening dining experience greatly improved and saved the special night despite 3 hours later.

    When I made our reservation for Friday 2/14/25 I did not know that they were doing a special Valentines fixed menu with a set price of $180 per couple, plus taxes and a fixed 20% gratuity. The menu did not indicate that the gratuity was automatic. A gratuity is supposed to be up to the diner. This is misleading. Plus, they were obviusly not prepared for the quantity of diners because service was extremely slow (wait 20 minutes for a glass of wine). We were there for some 3 hours and saw at least one couple get up and leave before receiving their food due to slow service. Our previous experiences here for our wedding anniversary had been excellent. Very dissapointed in this "adventure". Not only that, but my wife and I had diarreah during the night.

    it was very expensive but that was to be expected. the service was kind of slow and i was not asked once if we needed anything. it was a great experience overall but quicker and more persistent service would be preferred.
