Located in Bloomfield, Connecticut, Republic serves American cuisine with an inventive flair in a gastropub setting. The restaurant has a full bar that features a wide selection of craft beers. Republic offers daily happy hour specials, takeout and catering services. Start out with an order of hummus or bacon-wrapped dates at Republic.     The food is always good but the service is slow. My husband asked for extra sauce on the side when he ordered and we didn’t get it until he was half way done with his meal.

    Steve our waiter was wonderful! It might work better if you sat groups of 6 or more not in the front area that faces the street…we were there today in that area with a group of 6 sitting very close to us as that room is very small and their loud conversation and laughter was a bit overwhelming

    We thoroughly enjoyed both chicken entrées. Who knew they could be so different and yet both extremely delicious. The Peruvian chicken and the chicken confit. The shrimp was the best as an appetizer. Absolutely perfectly cooked and delicious. Would love to see the chicken confit join the menu, not just a chef special it was that good!

    The food and wine were great! I’m not sure if it was our server or the kitchen but the service was EXTREMELY slow! We ordered 3 salads and dessert and it took 3 hours from start to finish. The server brought over deviled eggs apologizing for the wait. Our salads were great but the desserts were awful (lava cake and olive oil cake)

    Service and food were great. The person I was with ordered a Caesar salad and they brought a salad with avocado on top, clearly not Caesar. The waitress had put the correct order in and they fixed it quickly. I had the meatballs and they were delicious! Looking forward to my leftover meatball for lunch today.

    The service was excellent and just enough. This was a business dinner and it was just right. The food was top quality and delicious. Freshest seafood and exquisite pairings. But the Chefs choice starters and wine were quite noteworthy. Ambiance was good for a packed Thursday dinner rush. Parking was a bear (as I said, it was packed). I highly recommend this restaurant.
