My husband and I are bar stool peeps and enjoy the causal setting at the bar. We were celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary and was out first time here hoping for a nice evening out. Generally, bartender service can be “hit or miss” and she was a “MISS!!”
Our appetizers ordered were the scallops and the arancini. Both nice presentation. Scallops were salty. Arancini crispy outside (yay) and tepid inside (boo). Truth be told we’ve had amazing Arancini in small Italy Boston last year that was buono! Our main entrees were the squid ink pasta w/lobster medallion and braised short ribs on a bed of risotto. It was tasty. Very tasty!
We mentioned in our reservation celebrating anniversary and Concierge with no recognition. All G . . . Yet, the Chef sent appetizers to the first time customer sitting next to us. What . . Wow!?! As a native Hawaiian, local, AND Concierge that has traveled small ‘kine round-da-world-food-snob, fundamental service and food quality is symbiotic.
We will not return, nor as a Concierge recommend. Small island and this Kanaka Maoli will go elsewhere.
