The appetizers were truly impressive. It would be even better if the staff could be trained to explain the dining sequence after serving the dishes, such as suggesting which dish to start with. You can clearly see the chef’s or founder’s dedication to plating, but the lack of staff training significantly detracts from the overall dining experience.
This restaurant is definitely worth bringing foreign guests to for experiencing Taiwanese mullet roe cuisine. The dining time is 90 minutes, which felt quite short, likely because greetings and conversations delayed ordering, compressing the actual dining time. As a result, three dishes were brought to the table all at once. That’s partly on us, but it would help if the waitstaff could proactively take orders to speed things up.
Not sure why the soup bowl’s lid was placed into the soup itself. The fried rice, unfortunately, had cooled down due to being left on the table too long, resulting in an oily aftertaste.
The final dessert, the osmanthus jelly, was highly appreciated by the guests, but the salty flavors dessert shocked the taste buds, leaving the dessert without proper balance. It’s truly a pity that there was no explanation of the dishes, as it undermined the chef’s thoughtful efforts.
