La Isla in Seattle has been open for nearly 10 years. Originally, the eatery was little more than a small food vendor, but a growing number of customers loved the dishes served and the salsa music played. Since establishing a full-blown restaurant in downtown, La Isla serves Puerto Rican food with an ambiance meant to feel like old San Juan.
Though the rum drinks here are amazing, La Isla has actually won two awards for the seafood served here. The salmon a la parrilla was the big winner and is served with a garlic marinade and lemon seasonings. Another very popular item is the flan, which is made with just a hint of cinnamon.
