   Although the food ranged from expected quality to really good, our server Emma was the star of our visit. Detailed oriented, attentive (but not a helicopter), kind and knowledgeable, she made the visit special - but isn’t that what quality people do? We started with the tiger prawns. They were well cooked, firm but still moist however the dredge was the star, sweet with just a hint of heat. Both of us chose the filet as entree. It was an excellent cut, and generally well cooked although both of us remarked that we would have enjoyed just about a minute less over the flame. The broccolini was fresh and seasoned well, an enjoyable side. We added on the foraged mushrooms, and were extremely happy that we did. Prepared perfectly, seasoned drizzled with an amazing concoction… and those pepitos! Delicious! Thank you for a great evening Emma!

   The food overall was hit or miss. The seasonal sashimi was great, but the grilled octopus was tough and rubbery. The crab and avocado salad was bland. They must also be the only restaurant in Seattle to not have oysters available. Most of the wine and beer list was also unavailable. Overall, I was disappointed.

   It is not advertised that Shaker + Spear is a brunch only location until dinner service. The brunch food was perfectly acceptable however, the service was extremely slow (particularly when trying to flag down the check) despite there only being 3 parties present at the lunch hour. This is not a place to hold a business lunch. I look forward to dining with them for dinner.

   Everyone commented that the food was very good. We really enjoyed our time there and will go again. Our server was very friendly and the service was good. I wish I had room for dessert, but the portions were great and I just could not fit it. :)

   service was very poor, we felt like they were tending to every table promptly except for ours - where we waited for ages just to order our food, while other tables were being served quickly.

    What a great find! We found the restaurant on Yelp and we were not disappointed! The ambiance was wonderful! Service was prompt and attentive. The food was amazing! We highly recommend Shaker and Spear. We have been twice this week.
