The Sheldon Inn offers an unparalleled fine dining experience, perfect for any celebration or night out. Yes, the restaurant was busy, but that shouldn’t excuse the mix-up that occurred. My friend ordered extra vegetables and no mashed potatoes with her medium rare roast beef. I ordered my roast beef as rare as possible and no changes to the vegetables or potatoes. When the plates were put down, the roast beef had been switched. I got the medium rare and my friend was served the very rare. The waitperson scooted off so quickly that we didn’t have a chance to say anything to him. We switched the meat ourselves. Quite ungainly as you can imagine. There were only two of us…..how difficult was it to get the order right? Sheldon Inn is expensive. My friend and I expect better for our money.

We were celebrating our anniversary with a brunch. Sheldon Inn really made it special with personalized menus, a picture and all the anniversary wishes from all the staff. The food was fabulous and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!

Brunch at Sheldon Inn is always wonderful because the food is of the highest quality restaurant in Elk Grove, rivaling Boulevard Bistro. We had the Farmer's Breakfast, which consists of two eggs as you like, sourdough toast, bacon, ham,, linguica, and breakfast potatoes with peppers and onions. Everything was wonderful except the toast -- Sheldon Inn really needs to upgrade its toast to buttered wheat toast as at Black Bear diner, instead of that hard, difficult to digest sourdough toast a(without butter) that they serve. I almost choked trying toi eat it and it tasted like week old bread to me. The rest of the breakfast is wonderful, except for this one item that Sheldon Inn management really needs to change. We sat at a table in the bar, which does make it a bit difficult to hear others at your table but it is a nice and warm environment. We could not get into the dining room because of the Valentine Day crowd and the courtyard, which is so lovely and needly magical in the summertime, was not really a consideration, given the cool temperatures and rainy weather, which will continue likely for three to four weeks. Allin all, a wonderful Elk Grove tradition that I recommend to everyone in the Sacramento - Stockton area.

Great service great food! The filet was one of the best I've had.Only complain would be the website states 20.00 corkage fee but we were charged 25.00.

The hostess was lovely and checked on us several times. The personalized menu was cute & the complimentary picture & printout was a pleasant surprise. Our server, Ron, was amazing. The food met my expectations. The ambiance was ok. It was a bit crowded for me, but overall I was satisfied.

Great mid week “date night”, special Wednesday night dinner menu , they did not skimp on flavor, and service. Have been dining there over 30 yrs , always the best meals! We both had the salmon special! We will be back soon❤️

I appreciated the customized menu for the birthday celebration. Our server also checked up on us often and made great recommendations. She was friendly and thoughtful. I really appreciated that our main entree was served all at the same time (and served hot might I add!) so that we may begin eating together. It was my first time here but will definitely be returning in the future.
