    A selection of light lunches and gorgeous grazing boards plus our savoury takes on Afternoon Tea and some Assembly House classics! Served from noon until last orders at 3.30pm seven days a week! Try our seafood version of afternoon tea, Afternoon Sea, or Afternoon Cheese, which is a cheese-lover's delight! Your restaurant booking is for one of our beautiful Georgian dining rooms, including the main restaurant and The Ivory Room. During the summer months, outdoor tables are available but cannot be pre-booked due to the charming eccentricity of the British weather. If you have a restaurant booking and there is space, you can request that your booking is moved outdoors.

    Available seven days a week from 8am to 11am, our breakfast menu includes favourites such as a Full English Fry-up packed full of local ingredients to Posh Cheese on Toast, our popular Beforenoon Tea (a breakfast edition of our afternoon tea served on three tiers) to our Double-Baked Cheddar and Parmesan Soufflés, Kedgeree to Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs on sourdough to Buttermilk Pancakes with berries and creme fraiche or Chocolate...There's something for everyone on the menu! We also have vegan and vegetarian fry-ups available and homemade breakfast beans on toast. Start your day the right way: under chandeliers!

    It's the multi-award winning service we're famous for: four gorgeous tiers served under glittering chandeliers between 12pm & 3.30pm! Afternoon Tea at The Assembly House is £32.00 for one (£18.95 for under-12s) plus a 10% discretionary service charge. ALL afternoon teas served are themed, other than for pre-booked private events. Your booking will be for one of several of our dining rooms, including the main restaurant. We look forward to you being our guests!     It’s been a while since we’ve had an Assembly House afternoon tea and had forgotten quite how good they are compared to others available. We were warmly greeted at restaurant reception and quickly shown to our table. After a suitable time gap our drinks request was taken by a friendly and efficient staff member, our pots of tea soon arriving. Our multi tiered tea stand then arrived with an explanation of all the delights thereon, with a request to just ask when we were ready for our scones and/or wanted our second pot of tea. Every tier was a delight as were the scones. Several other tables opted for the ‘doggie box’ but I’m afraid we scoffed the lot. We have a Norfolk Passport card so we’re entitled to a 10% discount. A lovely ‘afternoon out’, delightful food in a charming setting with very pleasant staff. Thank you.

    Had the gluten-free afternoon tea and I have coeliac and one of the very few times I didn't feel jealous looking at the normal version my dining partner had. Excellent service as well, we both felt very looked after.

    Speed of service was excellent, shame the young waiter didn’t listen to my order specifically and the different waiter whom brought it to the table just apologized rather that offer an option, didn’t ask wether I’d like it remove . Request for a menu a second time took 5 mins and then it was a waitress whom helped .

    We had The Nutcracker afternoon tea on a Sunday afternoon. Service was slow and it took a long time to catch someone’s eye to order more drinks, and even longer for the drinks to appear. We were told we could have more sandwiches, but these were never offered. The food was nice, but the service wasn’t as attentive as I was expecting.

    Absolutely delightful! Friendly and charming service, really tasty food - we had plenty on the cake stand but could have had more if we wanted to. Tea and coffee were also plentiful. I will definitely be coming back for more! Thank you

    Didn’t appreciate being greeted as darling by the front desk on arrival, when asked was there a waiting area as we was 15mins early for our booking was informed the area was shut for a private function and we would need to leave and come back (darling) as a middle age women being called darling I find very patronising and unprofessional, we asked twice for a jug of water for the table but didn’t receive. Couldn’t finish the afternoon tea so we was asked if we would like to take it with us on leaving.on receiving the box items we’re missing.

    Such a nice way to spend the afternoon with high tea at The Assembly House, my parents (70s), my son (16) and me (50). Food, service and the atmosphere were all great.

    Overpriced and too many tables squashed into the room. Tired decor and toilets not pleasant.

    Always a great meal in a lovely venue. We had the before noon tea which was excellent value
