Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

    My spouse and I had a long day traveling. We went for a couple drinks before dinner at the Mad Batter. There for HH… very good. So, we only ate at the Blue Pig. The dinner was amazing. Service was a little slow.. needed more water and bread. But, the filet mignon and Chilean sea bass was amazing. The sides on the Chilean sea bass ( hummus and chickpeas) was not desirable to me. Prepared well, but not what I would like with the fish. All in all… a great stop.

    Excellent dining experience. On a chilly night it was nice that the fireplace was helping to warm the atmosphere. The place was very busy, so service a little slower than expected, but the staff were all polite and helpful. The food was outstanding. Truly an enjoyable meal.

    The Blue Plate specials are wonderful! The Blue Pig offers a 3 course meal for a much-reduced price. Choices are limited to one of 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts; but every selection was great!
