Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

    Always a lovely place to dine. Very festive for the holiday season. Prompt, attentive service though two dishes that we asked to share (oysters and salad) were served without a second plate. Plates were delivered promptly when requested. Wine glass was cloudy and spotty. Oysters, beet salad, prime rib, crab cakes were all delicious though crab cakes could have been warmer. Great crispy fries. Overall pleasant experience.

    Great table by fireplace, awesome waiter. Don’t remember his name, but he was from Montenegro. Tall, dark hair, bearded.

    Lovely spot in Cape May through the winter months. One of the few places open. Decorated for the holidays and roaring fires in the bar and restaurant. Food was excellent.

    We always love our dining experience at the blue pig Tavern! Congress Hall over the holidays never disappoints and the service and ambience is the best. Great place to gather with friends and family when you visit the Jersey shore!

    My family and I went to eat and everything was perfect, food, service and ambience. They even have vegetarian and gluten free options. Definitely if you go to Cape May you should try this place.
