   Amazing food that is unique and fresh, and seasonal cocktails with a twist. Justin, our server, was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the food and drink menu and made excellent suggestions. The roasted carrots, mushroom tagliatelle and trout were phenomenal. We look forward to going back to try the other items on the menu.

   The food and service are amazing. I have never had a bad meal here. Everything tastes so good. The staff are friendly.

   Food was excellent, staff very attentive, bar manager offered us the opportunity to taste upcoming cocktails and also made one of my favorite cocktails when I shared the recipe. We had the charcuterie board , beet salad and beef tartare.

   We enjoyed dinner Saturday night. Great location on Wall Street which is a great place for shopping and people watching. The interior is lovely and comfortable, with windows front and back. We loved having a table on the mezzanine overlooking the front dining area which includes a bar with seating. We also could see out the clerestory windows with a view of trees and sky. The menu is seasonal and farm to table. Spring menu coming soon, we will definitely go back for that. We started with perfectly made martinis and delicious truffle flavored fries. Our server, Justin, was accommodating and knowledgeable and attentive. We requested a ginger martini, and it was concocted perfectly. The duck confit was so GOOD, accompanied by Brussel sprouts. Pomegranate sauce on both. Generous serving size, we brought home enough for lunch. I had a glass of pilot noir that complemented the dish. The burger on the menu looked great, also the salads.

   What an exceptional experience, from beginning to end. It started with the hostess giving the name on our reservation to the server when we were taken to our table. I don’t remember the last time that happened anywhere, and it’s a small but really nice bit of personalization and service. We both found a wine on the list that we very much enjoyed, and my wife appreciated the ability to taste small samples as she was deciding between two wines. The food itself was outstanding, which included the in-house made butter with the sourdough bread starter, the roasted cauliflower, the smoked beet salad, the onion soup, and truly the best beef tartare we’ve ever experienced (including times I’ve had it in New York and Paris). The service was attentive but not intrusive, and we were sorry we didn’t have room for what looked like wonderful desserts. A great place for a nice relaxed absolutely delicious meal.

   Going to the Market Place was only one of a handful of times I’ve gotten to take in the food scene here in Asheville, and I must say, it has been my favorite thus far. The staff was great— they were even able to accommodate us when we wanted to change our reservation to an earlier time. The waitstaff was top notch. Our server— I believe her name was Glena (apologies to her if I got it incorrect)— was knowledgeable, personable, and gave great recommendations. The food itself was divine. My girlfriend has impeccable fine dining taste and she said the beef tartare was probably the best she’d ever had. The quail wings were out of this world. Every bite we took was better than the last. The drinks were made perfectly, and I love how the restaurant has a high concentration on locality and sustainability; something I was unaware of about it until we were being seated. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

    We'd been before and the food was outstanding. Do they have a new chef? The food was good, not great. Also, the menu was limited and very wintery. IT was a lovely high-70's spring day. We weren't in the mood for heavy food.
