We attended the TOTM New Year's Eve event for perhaps the 10th time in the last 17 years. The food and drink was outstanding! The appetizer stations were amazing and the plated dinner was excellent. However, the room, at least where we sat, was bitterly cold. This has been an ongoing problem over the years and it seems that the TOTM is unable to fix it. Despite repeated pleas by us and by couples sitting close by, the temperature throughout the evening remained unacceptably cold. And, over the years, the NYE event has become more and more casual, to the detriment of the ambience. It used to be an opportunity to dress up, a tuxedo for me and an evening gown for my wife. This year was the low point. Very few people seemed to have made any attempt. Some appeared to have rolled out of bed and put on whatever they found on the floor. It resembled more a farmer's convention than a NYE gala. I think for next year we will have to look for an event where the dress code is less ignored. But if you are looking for a spectacular view, with excellent food and drink, and good service, where you can attend in a t-shirt and jeans and wear your baseball cap backwards all evening, then this event is for you. But for us, it was disappointing.

Came for the NYE Gala which was marketed as a luxurious 5-course dinner with wine pairings. We also spent the night at the hotel. The reception and dinner were abysmal. It was transparently an attempt to make money. I have been to many lovely dinners with tasting menus and this pales in comparison to all. Every single course (including the soup) was either lukewarm or cold. The only thing that tasted good was the duck. There were long lines for the appetizer stations and i didn't see any passed as promised. While we were greeted with a glass of champagne, it was difficult to get more as the wait staff were scarce. The wine pairings were all poured in the same cheap wine glass (not different size/shape glasses depending on wine type). We asked for water multiple times without success. Service was spotty. They weren't bad, but more suited to a 2 star restaurant. For example wine was poured 10 minutes before the food came. I really love the Top of the Mark and will come back, but only for drinks and to enjoy the view. Stay away from these horrible events. By the way, they never passed out the gifts promised in the marketing.

What a lovely space and amazing view from all around the place. It’s really a must visit location. We enjoyed the ahi tuna poke and the asparagus flatbread with some nice sparkling wine. I have enjoyed their cocktails in the past as well. Don’t expect a bargain, but remember that you are paying for great service and the amazing views.

What a special way to end the year! The service was excellent. My non-alcoholic drink was delicious as were our appetizers. Dress up and enjoy this San Francisco landmark!

Its not what it used to be. Too loud, too run down, just a tourist trap now with no unique quality. Great views but that’s it.

Not as good as we expected and remembered. Patrons not dressed up as much. Great views, of course, but nothing special. All and all, it was OK but still disappointing.

The Magic Tea Party is a wonderful experience in general and a family tradition for many years now. It's fun getting dressed up for a special holiday experience with younger ones...beautiful views. The food is NOT the star. Reasonable selection of choices, nothing is remotely warm. My ten year old expressed that both her mac'n'cheese and chicken strips were cold. We have previously always attended before Christmas. This year we visited the Saturday following. There was no Christmas/Holiday music...lots of Taylor Swift instead. My daughter loves Swift but we missed the magic of the holiday vibes. The face painter was kind, not as efficient or in character as the previous artist. Very much missed the creativity of the previous balloon artist. The Grinch was a nice new touch! Our server was much more attentive to the table next to us. We very much enjoyed our time together at the Magic Tea Party. There is significant room for improvement.
