Established in 2014, Unite Urban Grill is a family-owned restaurant that serves seasonal American cuisine. Unite Urban Grill serves multiple varieties of soups, salads, appetizers, and entrées, including steaks, cocktails and beer. Unite Urban Grill has a casual ambience and good service and offers outdoor dining and in-house banquet services as well. The short rib bowl, spinach flatbread, lamb meatballs and the glazed chicken wings are popular appetizers. Among soups and salads, the roasted carrot soup and the beet salad are notable. Well-known entrées include the unite burger and the half Amish chicken. Other dishes worth trying out are lobster mac & cheese and babyback ribs. Our server was Kaitlyn & she was adorable and wonderful. She had great recommendations and was very friendly. The food was SO good, ended up taking leftovers home because we ordered a little too much food for just the 2 of us. Will definitely be back for dinner - Kaitlyn also mentioned their brunch, so it's likely we'll check that out as well!

The owners of this place are very hands on. The staff remembers us (maybe just because of our cute dog!) and they always stop by to say hi even when they're not our server. This time I took my parents and sister here. Food was great! They enjoyed their experience as well. PS I'm so glad the brussels sprouts are back on the menu! Also, the squash dish with pomegranate is super delicious!

Really sad to see this place close. Only went there once, but loved it. When trying to make another reservation, I saw they closed up shop.

Food was good. Service was not good. Waited 30 minutes for drinks. Looks as though they were understaffed for a Sunday brunch. Our waitress was clearly flustered and it stood out in her service to us. Disappointing.

While my mom was visiting Chicago, she and two of my friends made a reservation for Unite on their recommendation. We arrived to a short wait, which was no big deal. The bartender was incredibly nice, and we were seated in great moods. From the beginning of our experience, it seemed like our waitress was pretty stressed. Three out of the four of us have worked in service, and we assumed that something was going on with another table while we waited a while to be asked about drinks. About a half hour after we were seated, we finally received our bottle of wine. The food we ordered was excellent, my only complaint there was that when my steak arrived cold (I had ordered it rare, but it was quite cold), I mentioned this to the man who asked how our food was, and he took it away without asking if I wanted to send it back, including the sides I had put on my plate. The steak returned to me without sides, and I had to ask the man for them back, which he eventually brought in a little side bowl. Throughout our meal, our waitress checked on us once in passing. I should mention here that we didn't have a bad time. Having worked in service, we all understand that off nights happen, and that there was probably something happening behind the scenes to stress the staff out. But for a meal where you're spending about $40 per person (we would have spent more had our drinks been checked on), a modicum of service is expected. I'd love to return sometime to get a second impression, but until then, I would only recommend this place on a weeknight.

My wife and I came to Unite for our second anniversary. We ate their the night we got married and the first and liked the food and decided to make it tradition. With one exception. My wife has been on a special diet and can't have oils, sauces, etc. So we asked our waiter to prepare her steak that way. Then she requested a simple side of vegetables, any kind, steamed. Broccoli, spinach, anything. No can do, and not available says the waiter. He doesn't even bother to go ask the chef. When we were almost done, the owner came out and apologized and said that we should just call ahead next time for special arrangements. I don't ever remember going to any other high end restaurant (this is somewhat expensive) and not being able to get a simple steamed vegetable as a side by just asking for it then. Maybe I'm asking too much.

This place was perfect for my brother who is new to the West Loop and myself who is from the suburbs. It is a gem and has such a lovely ambiance. The sexy seating in the front is like a lounge and perfect for cocktails and a date. They also made sure my salmon and Brussels sprouts (AMAZING) were prepared completely gluten free because I have Celiac disease and am highly allergic. Our server Daisy was sweet and very helpful in recommending beers to the boys and wine for me.

Good food ( steak ) and service. Location good but places close to the door were too cold....this made the dinner a 3,5 star. But overall it was good

My boyfriend and I always try to find new places to eat at in Chicago and we yelp all our restaurants before we go to them. This one naturally had good reviews. We went with the restaurant week special and then ordered mac and cheese as well. It may have been one of the most perfectly cooked (medium rare) pieces of steak I have ever ate. The steak tartare was outstanding as well. The service was amazing too, I think the manager was serving us the food and he was very friendly.
