Located in the Walkley area of Sheffield, Vito’s is a popular Italian restaurant at which booking is essential at any time of the week. This restaurant is pleasingly traditional, from the claret upholstery of the furnishings to the vines draped through the beams overhead, all creating a cosy feel helped along of course by Vito’s trademark good service. That old Italian charm is of course just as prevalent on the menu, overseen by owner Vito Ciaraolo and his head chef – and sister – Lucia. The Vito’s menu is all about authenticity, the wide selection including a whole host of favourite Italian dishes, made with a combination of chef’s skill and adventure and home-style heart, all served in large portions. Wine expert Vito has selected a good list of Italian grapes to be served alongside his food, both well-known labels and smaller, interesting picks for those keen on a little oeno-adventure.

The Fassone Piedmontese Meat: The full blood Piedmontese Fassone cattle are a long-living breed that has developed only in one small geographic area: Piemonte, the alpine region in north-western Italy. The Piedmontese cow can be bred favourably on mountain pastures that reach 2000m asl. Piedmontese Fassone beef is the answer to the concerns as it offers a product that is lower in fat, cholesterol, and calories than conventional beef, while providing the tenderness and flavours that consumer's desire. Piedmontese Fassone is a special Italian Beef on the same Level than The Queen of Italian Beef "Chianina" and they grow bigger than other, that's why a Fillet is never smaller than 4kg. The Beef we use has been matured for at least 21 days. All meat dishes are served with vegetables or salad

This is a very pleasant smallish restaurant. We were greeted at the door and shown straight to our table. The menu has a good choice of dishes, including vegetarian, and there was also a specials board. We all enjoyed our dishes. However we were disappointed that we each just got a standard bowl of vegetables (of which at least half was roast potatoes) - I would have liked the veg / side dishes to have been chosen by the chef to compliment the main course. The food was well cooked and presented; it was pleasant, but for me there wasn't a "wow factor". Pricing of food was very reasonable; wines however (especially the reds) were pretty expensive.
